WHAT: Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) contractors are scheduled to reduce traffic access to the Tyson Road bridge over I-20 to one lane beginning October 19 for approximately 90 days. One single lane will remain open to traffic. This closure will provide safety for workers and drivers in the area while bridge rehabilitation activities are performed.
Bridge rehabilitation includes raising the structures’ vertical clearance, bridge deck preservation (with polymer overlay), painting of steel beams, joint replacement where necessary and stabilizing the superstructures and substructures.
WHEN: Weather and on-site conditions permitting, the closures will be installed on Monday, October 19 and will remain in place for approximately 90 days.
