Biography

Martin Raxton is a seasoned executive who is delivering programs resulting in increased revenue, improved organizational efficiency and new innovative technology producing measurable results impacting P&L.  He has implemented strategic initiatives across large and mid-cap companies resulting in measurable alignment with the mission and goals while operationalizing market concepts producing enterprise level growth.  He has directly created strategic governance to track benefits realization outcomes for corporate boards and key executives. 

 

He has delivered a cloud-based global guest reservation platform deployed 

across 5,700 properties at IHG, increasing online bill payments usage by 18% at Bank of America and approving 100+ zoning variances submitted to the City of Douglasville, Georgia resulting in the creation of new jobs.  Martin sits on the Board of Directors for the Michigan State University Black Alumni which administers $3.1 million in endowed scholarships for students.  Martin serves as Chair of the Bylaws Committee and is a member of the Nominating Committee.  Under his stewardship, he has obtained Board approval modifying bylaws impacting voting procedures, officer qualifications and financial reporting requirements for chapters.  Martin is the President & CEO of the Krimson Political Action Council serving as the strategy and marketing officer where he successfully increased donor contributions by 35% for 60 candidates seeking elected offices at the local, state and federal levels.  Martin also has served as Vice Chair of the Douglas County Board of Assessors making decisions impacting property values on 54,000 personal and commercial properties in Douglas County, Georgia that directly supports the Douglas County’s annual budget.  Recently, he became President of the Michigan State University Achievement Fund which is a non-profit foundation charged with raising capital from individual and corporate donors to support academic and need based scholarships.  Martin is a past Chair of the City of Douglasville Planning & Zoning Board rendering decisions on zoning variance requests leading to economic development and construction job creation.

 

As a 25-year strategic portfolio and program executive, Martin has created new innovations impacting customers through information technology.  He has presented new strategic initiatives to corporate boards and senior executives in the energy, hospitality, insurance and fintech space.  Currently, Martin is employed with Cisco as a portfolio operation lead supporting multiple component families within Cisco IT. Prior to Cisco, he worked at NCR as a senior program director within digital banking guiding the development of enterprise level strategic products shifting the competitive advantages of the company from ATM machines to Software as a Service (SaaS) while expanding the footprint of cryptocurrency, online banking and mobile applications which directly supports hundreds of financial institutions.  His governance experience includes private sector and public policy legislation presented to elected officials on strategic initiatives regarding affordable housing and business development to local and state jurisdictions.    

 

Martin is a Herndon Directors Institute fellow and holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Cleveland State University’s Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs and a bachelor’s degree in Organization/Industrial Psychology from Michigan State University.  He has also completed coursework towards a doctorate degree in Public Administration from Florida Atlantic University.  He holds several professional certifications including an Advanced Master’s Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University, Program for Technical Managers from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Project Management Professional (PMP), Project Management Institute Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) and Certified Scrum Master (CRM).  In his spare time, Martin enjoys reading, traveling, golf, investing, presenting at community forums and mentoring future leaders.
