Brief Introduction
Douglas County’s Transportation Department maintains over 700 miles of roadways each year that support more than 100-thousand motorists a day. With a growing population and increasing visitor and pass-through traffic, the county’s infrastructure is feeling the strain. The proposed TSPLOST will supplement the existing transportation funding through an additional 1% sales tax. It is expected to generate over $100 million in revenue over six years, from 2025 to 2031. Douglas County’s Department of Transportation will utilize this revenue to improve the county’s roads through maintenance & new projects focusing on safety, congestion relief, enhanced mobility, and quality of life for all citizens.
